Following the disappearance of her mother, Josie is left with a lot of unanswered questions. Together with a silver necklace, her mother has also left behind, a letter. But instead of answering Josie’s questions, it only serves to underline further the mysterious circumstances of her abandonment so many years ago.
Her past soon begins to unravel in a way she had never dreamed possible as she finds herself catapulted to a place where reality is indeed relative. It is here that she encounters ‘The Guardians’, a group of scientists who rely on the secrets of the quantum universe to guard the fate of the time-line as we know it.
Josie is a feisty but reluctant young heroine, who finds herself caught up in a race to protect the dangerously fluctuating future of the people she loves while trying to prevent the unraveling of a past she has been forced to leave behind. Along the way she encounters the steely blue-eyed, ex-secret service agent, William Craig to whom she feels an inexplicable connection. Though he is theoretically more than a hundred years her senior, he has somehow managed not to age a single day since his passing in 1902.
As Josie comes face to face with many ghosts from the past, she soon comes to realise that when it comes to reality things are not always what they seem.
Her own mysterious connection to the quantum world begins to unfold as she learns the significance of the gut feeling that guides her through the shifting reality around her.
With the help of the guardians she crosses the barriers of time and space down the rabbit hole to a quantum wonderland where the events of past, present and future intertwine to form the delicate threads of reality itself.
It is here in this complex maze that she must learn to trust her intuition and where the lines between reality and possibility become the blurred lines of ‘Relativity’.
